I recently re-designed our Chrysalis Cardi into a petite version as the sheer amount/volume of fabric in the original version swallows up more petite bodies!
The design, like everything does have some differences that I wanted to highlight and show you.
{For information, I'm just under 5'10" and about a size 6-8, athletic build}
The Chrysalis Cardi styled as the Cocoon Cardi
As you can see in the above picture, the original cardi hits slightly below my butt -- the petite cardi hits at my natural waist. The sleeves are slightly shorter on me as well (I do have really long arms!). They still cover the elbows but are not full length.
BUT.... as a benefit... on my body type/height, I can now make my Petite Cardi into a cute shrug perfect for wearing over dresses... hello holiday party!
The Chrysalis Cardi as the Double Loop Scarf
In the comparison above, the Petite Cardi is on the Right. You can see there is less fabric when styled as the double loop scarf.
On the positive side, this makes the Petite Cardi the perfect transition piece for fall-spring-summer as it's light-weight.
On the negative side, it may not be a enveloping, and cozy as the original cardi (which is more difficult to wear in the summer).
The Dress Looks
I didn't have a chance to take photos in the dress looks but they are quite short on someone my height (again, I'm just under 5'10") but they are wearable as a cute cocktail dress, or even more perfect as a beach coverup.
For the ladies who are under 5'3", they will make an elegant knee-length tunic or one-shoulder gown.
I hope this helped illustrate some of the differences between our designs.
